To me this first half of the year it was a good year in art for me. We did a total of 5 art projects this year and I only didn't finish one of them because half way through the building of the object it got a crack in it and it was impossible to finish it without starting all the way over. My favorite piece of artwork and my best artwork would have to be the interactions artwork. The object of the project was to make two piece of artworks that in some way show interactions. It was my best artwork because I actually showed kinda of what style I like to do. My designs along the side really make this more of me because it is a thing I love to draw. In art aspects it was good because it showed interaction once you put the two pieces together. I can't wait to see what it looks fired because I took a american style to it. It has to be one of the best pieces of my four years and I'm really proud of it.
With art there comes a lot of obstacles when you are building this. Working with clay isn't really easy it is actually pretty difficult if you have never worked with it. There are many precautions you have to take when you are working with clay. This is exactly what I had to do when I was constructing the interactions project. The hardest obstacle would have to trying to get the star even on both sides so it look alike it is actually supposed to be interacting with each other. Another tough part to this project would have to be doing the designs around the outside and trying to figure out which one I was going to make pop out and loo three dimensional. This by far were the two biggest obstacles I had to overcome in this piece. Even though it was the hardest it was also my best piece and I really love it.
There is many ways to grow in art. I have grown a great amount since my freshman year and I'm really proud of how I've grown. The way you show growth in art is through your artwork. Two pieces I feel that show my growth in art are the interactions project and the totem spoon project. In the interactions project it showed my growth because of just the way it came to be. I just took time to really think about this project and the way I brought it to life was my growth. The way I popped out the star and made the other things come to life shows how far I have came along I was never able to do this back in the earlier years. The other growth I showed was in my totem spoon. I really liked this project because of the way I constructed the spoon. The spoon really worked as a spoon of i wanted to I could eat out of the spoon. Thats what I was going for, that shows my growth I was never this good in my earlier years. It was hard for me to work with clay back then but now i have had years to to work with it and these two pieces that show the growth there is other pieces but these two are the most recent and I'm really proud of my growth.
This year we learned some new ways to go about our clay working ways. I didn't really learn anything that I wasn't taught before. I have had art for four years now and it has always been the same for me when I am working with clay. The only reason I know what I know is because of the best art teacher in the world! This year things have been somewhat different I guess with the way we work with clay. Everything has been a help this year from all the boards we have down to the little materials we use to help us form the clay that we want. It hasn't really effected me because I'm still doing clay the way I would have 3 years ago and nothing changed for me. The only effect that it may have on me is that I know my time is running out in the art room and in the whole school. I know I'm ready but I'm not ready to leave what is a big part of my life. I love my teacher and i love my classmates and I wouldn't want to spend my senior year with anybody else! I can't wait to see what next year bring for me and my friends in art.
